The French photovoltaic (PV) market has long been known for its stringent access criteria, and carbon footprint certification stands as a major high barrier for enterprises. As an authoritative certification implemented by the French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE), its access requirements for PV projects with a capacity of over 100kW are regarded as an industry benchmark, causing many module manufacturers to miss out on opportunities in the French market for failing to meet the standards. France's PPE2 (Plaque de Production d'Électricité) carbon footprint certification is a core qualification requirement for PV projects in France to participate in bidding and connect to the grid for power generation. It adopts the rigorous "Simplified Carbon Assessment (ECS)" methodology and fully tracks the life-cycle carbon emissions of modules from raw material extraction, production and manufacturing to finished product delivery, with its certification standards and processes leading the world.
