Radiante com brilho infinito com juventude: solução de rodovia fotovoltaica
If a film genre is defined as youth, I would personally choose road movies. The story of young people is one of the main themes of many stories carried by people on the road. For example, when China's traditional tourism Golden Week ends, people return to work and chat about the inevitable holiday stories. Today, let's talk about things on the highway.
According to the South China Morning Post on April 29th, during the 5-day "May Day" holiday in China, it is expected that the number of travelers will reach 240 million, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. Some major train stations have reportedly sold out tickets. "Post-90s" and "Post-00s" generations account for over 80% of the tourists.
The massive volume of travel has brought significant pressure to the power supply. To address this issue, many highways in the region are attempting to construct photovoltaic power generation projects. "Highway + Photovoltaic" can effectively utilize land and space resources, and power transmission is very convenient. It not only provides green energy for travelers' vehicles but also provides reliable power support for lighting and daily operations of service areas, rest areas, and gas stations. This is a sustainable solution that can alleviate the pressure on power supply, protect the environment, and provide us with a better travel experience.
Against the backdrop of the comprehensive promotion of new energy, the country strongly supports the construction of photovoltaic highways. In fact, as early as August 29, 2022,The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China and 5 other departments jointly issued the "Notice on Accelerating the Green and Low-Carbon Innovative Development Action Plan for Power Equipment", requiring the comprehensive promotion of photovoltaics in transportation fields such as new energy vehicle charging and swapping stations and highway service areas. These measures not only alleviate the pressure on power supply but also provide a greener and lower-carbon travel experience. In the future, the construction of photovoltaic highways will receive more policy and funding support.
"PV +" in China
With the development goals of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" being put forward, "PV+" is gradually integrating into people's lives in China. For example, the "PV+highway" project in Taizhou utilizes the self-owned space of highways, such as land, shoulders, ramps, and isolation belts, as well as facility spaces like building roofs, parking sheds, and walls to install PV power generation systems. The clean energy generated is used for bridge and tunnel lighting and ventilation facilities or outputted to the power grid system, achieving a friendly adaptation of new energy and road transportation. The installed capacity is 800KWp, with a total of 1,452 pieces of 550Wp mono-crystalline PV modules installed and connected to the grid. It is estimated that the annual power generation is about 800,000 kilowatt-hours, reducing a total of nearly 833 tons of carbon dioxide, sulfur oxides, and nitrogen oxides emissions. This is a very meaningful project that can improve energy utilization efficiency, reduce environmental pollution, and promote the development of a low-carbon economy.
In the city of Panzhihua in Sichuan province, the country's first "transportation-friendly" distributed photovoltaic energy storage project has been successfully implemented on the Panzhihua-Daliang highway. The project utilizes seven different types of locations, including roadside slopes, building roofs, abandoned soil fields, tunnel isolation zones, service areas, toll booths, and electronic equipment along the road, to construct distributed photovoltaic energy storage systems that integrate multiple energy supplies such as photovoltaic power generation, energy storage, and vehicle charging. The total installed capacity reaches 26,800 kW, with an average daily power generation of approximately 13,100 kWh, which can meet the project's own electricity demand and have adequate surplus power. established a zero-carbon energy station, which utilizes a long-cycle energy storage system of "lithium-hydrogen," ensuring a 7-10 day supply of clean energy. The application of these technologies will make the highway more environmentally friendly and low-carbon, providing a feasible demonstration for the promotion of new energy.
"PV+"in global
Other countries are also exploring the use of photovoltaic highways as a new solution for green energy, which will provide support for sustainable transportation development.
In Germany, a project called "Energy Belt" plans to install solar panels on highways to create a smart grid and save space. If 80% of Germany's highways and 65% of federal roads (a total of 45,000 kilometers) were equipped with double-sided solar panels, up to 200 TWh of electricity could be generated annually. The project requires steel mast poles to be erected every 15 meters along both sides of the highway. Photovoltaic components will be hung on steel beams between the poles. The "energy belt" made up of solar modules can extend along transportation axes between cities, industrial areas, and airports. The "energy belt" made up of solar modules can extend along transportation axes between cities, industrial areas, and airports. The biggest advantage of this system is that the electricity is already allocated and guided to the right place during the production process. The same idea is also being tested in Switzerland.
Switzerland has proposed an innovative photovoltaic and wind energy combined power generation system, which integrates photovoltaic components and wind turbines. These components are highly efficient in design and can be replaced multiple times to keep up with technological advancements. Using this method, up to 22,000 to 30,000 solar panels and up to 320 wind turbines can be installed per kilometer on highways, along with 162 support pillars for the roof. The protective walls and roof can significantly reduce noise, and the roof can also protect the street from snow and sunlight. In the summer, this can prevent overheating and UV radiation, while in the winter, it can avoid snow removal. In addition, the roof area can also be used as a rainwater collector. Two pilot projects are planned to be carried out in the Knonauer Amt region of the canton of Zurich in Switzerland, covering a total area of 2,500 square meters and generating approximately 78 GWh of solar and wind energy per year.
With the increasing demand for renewable energy, photovoltaic highways have become a field of great interest.
However, there are still many challenges facing photovoltaic highways.
- Firstly, the installation of solar panels requires a large amount of investment and engineering construction.
- Secondly, the lifespan of solar panels may be affected due to the high traffic flow and speed of the highways.
- In addition, dust and garbage on the road surface may also affect the efficiency of the solar panels.
Nevertheless, with the continuous progress of technology and the increasing demand for renewable energy, photovoltaic highways still have broad development prospects. the future, we can expect to see more photovoltaic highways, which can contribute to environmental protection and sustainable economic development.
