After the high temperature, the largest power exporter in Europe now needs to import?
These days, I woke up very early, so I turned over the calendar and found that the longest day of the year had come. The summer solstice* is here! (*:One of the 24 solar terms in China, representing the arrival of Midsummer in the northern hemisphere and the longest day of the year)
The arrival of the summer solstice also means that the temperature continues to rise. France felt the enthusiasm of summer in advance last week. According to 《le Parisien》 and BFM TV on the 16th.
With the continuous high temperature weather, all parts of France were swept by a heat wave on the 16th. The temperature in many places exceeded 40 degrees Celsius. 12 provinces issued red high temperature alarms and 25 provinces issued orange alarms. Fortunately, as of the release of this article, this week's rainfall has eased the temperature.

As the hot weather continues, France needs to import electricity due to increased power consumption and other factors. Under normal circumstances, France is one of the major power exporters in Europe. Besides self-sufficiency, it can also export electricity to meet the needs of other countries. Why did you import electricity this year? This is related to power generation under the influence of high temperature.
Decline in nuclear power coincides with reduction in electricity production
This year, affected by the high temperature weather and the reduction of nuclear power generation, France's power generation cannot even meet its domestic demand, so it needs to import instead.
France has always been a big nuclear power country, but this year, 27 of the 56 nuclear reactors in France were shut down or suspended due to internal corrosion hazards or equipment maintenance. An EDF spokesman said that as of the morning of the 16th, only 29 nuclear reactors in France could be put into production and use.
Electricité de France
In addition, the recent high temperature weather has also had a slight impact on nuclear power production. According to the announcement of EDF, the flow of the Rhone River is expected to be low due to the high temperature weather, and the power production of the nuclear power plant located in San albandiron, Iser province may be seriously affected (cooling water is required for the production of nuclear power), and a similar situation has occurred in 2018.
The spokesman of EDF said that since 2000, the production loss caused by high water temperature and low flow has accounted for about 0.3% of the annual output of French nuclear power.
Supply and demand imbalance, emergency imports
On the one hand, there is a reduction in electricity production and on the other, a surge in electricity consumption. Under double pressure, France has no choice but to import electricity.
According to data released by the French transmission grid company (RTE), the hot weather will lead to an increase in French electricity consumption of around 700MW compared to the same period of normal temperature conditions. 12.45pm on the 16th, electricity consumption across France was higher than expected, reaching a peak of 55.110GW for the day.
The French transmission grid company said that this level of power consumption is still far below the level of French winter power consumption; from the French summer peak electricity consumption record also has a distance, and said that now France's power supply is not short, but need to import power.

In this regard, there are many French media concern. This is not the first time that the power supply has been tight since the beginning of the year, and if the status quo is maintained, this phenomenon could be repeated in the future.
France's energy policy
Under normal circumstances, France has been a net exporter of electricity in the same period. Therefore, it is very rare that French electricity needs to be imported. Digging into the deep factors, we will find that in addition to the shutdown of nuclear power due to the consideration of potential safety hazards, the government's energy policy has also accelerated this phenomenon to a certain extent.
French President Macron recently reiterated the government's energy transformation plan. He said that he would continue to promote the development of renewable energy to cope with climate change and the energy crisis and ensure that the goal of carbon neutrality would be achieved by 2050.
According to the energy transformation plan, France will increase the installed capacity of solar power generation by 10 times by 2050, exceeding 100GW. According to the plan of the French government, the renewable energy in France will account for 32% of the total energy consumption in France by 2030.
Comply with policies to solve power supply and demand
It can be seen that if no power generation device is added in the short term, the power import will account for a lot of shares in the financial report of the French government this year. Of course, if the imbalance between supply and demand is solved, French electricity will return to self-sufficiency. In this period, solar power is a good choice.
During this period, the days are long, the light is sufficient and the temperature is high, which is very suitable for solar power generation. It belongs to the advantage period of solar power generation, and it can generate electricity continuously in the following seasons.
The current policy incentives and installed capacity requirements are a good time to enter the photovoltaic market. For this, we recommend this
"SPxxx-108M10"
The maximum power is 415w; M10 Monocrystalline half-cell; with 10-busbar design; the conduction efficiency is better, and the maximum efficiency can reach 21.23%; in areas with better lighting conditions in summer, the photoelectric conversion rate will be very high; Quiet operation without noise; Low installation restrictions, both on the ground and on the roof.
It can generate electricity for 12 hours in the day; longer battery life, 12 year warranty, 25 year Performance guarantee; Strong environmental tolerance, capable of withstanding wind pressure of 2400pa and snow pressure of 5400pa.
It has won TUV, CE, ISO and other international quality certificates and fire protection certificates to ensure that the cost of product investment can be quickly recovered and help achieve profitability.

At present, the energy transformation policy will have a painful period, which may cause market chaos and affect people's lives in the short term. This power import is a typical case, but in the context of the traditional energy crisis, people have begun to consider cleaner and safer energy. Perhaps this summer, following this "wave" may have unexpected effects and benefits.
